A BACKGROUND IN SERVICE

Meet
Terry Wilson.

A focus on community.

Terry Wilson is a husband, father, and public servant whose work in local government, education, and community development has centered on helping families and strengthening neighborhoods.

A Jennings resident and Ward 2 Councilman, Terry also serves as City Administrator for Dellwood. His experience combines representing residents with managing the day-to-day work of municipal government, giving him a practical understanding of the staffing, services, and follow-through that communities depend on.

Terry is a former President of the Jennings School Board and a former teacher and coach with Saint Louis Public Schools. He spent 12 years leading Beyond Housing’s Pagedale Family Support Center and also served as the organization’s Annual Fund Director. Those roles deepened his commitment to supporting families, connecting people with resources, and building lasting community partnerships.

A graduate of Lincoln University of Missouri, Terry has also earned Chancellor’s Certificates in Civic Leadership and Planning & Zoning from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. His service extends to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the 62nd & 65th Regiments Legacy Foundation.

Terry and his wife, LaChrista, are the parents of two sons, Terry Jr. (TJ) and Logan. As a candidate for Mayor, he brings that same commitment to family and community to seven priorities: stronger city operations, open communication, growing business districts, dependable everyday services, public safety, support for seniors, and opportunities for youth.

Grow our business districts

Grow our business districts by addressing vacant storefronts, supporting existing businesses, and encouraging a mix of family entertainment, restaurants, and live music. I also want to explore mixed-use development with attractive housing options beyond single-family homes.

Get back to the basics

Get back to the basics of an efficient, effective city, including dependable maintenance and better programming, promotion, and use of our recreation center.

Strengthen public safety and reduce crime

Work with law enforcement, residents, and community partners to prevent crime, strengthen neighborhood relationships, and address safety concerns. Promote responsive policing, better communication, and practical steps that help families feel safe in every part of Jennings.

Strengthen senior programs and support

Expand meaningful recreation, wellness, and social programs for our seniors. Build partnerships that connect older residents with helpful services and resources, reduce isolation, and support their ability to remain active, independent, and connected to our community.

Invest in our youth and their future

Create more opportunities for young people through recreation, mentoring, educational enrichment, and partnerships with schools and community organizations. Make better use of our recreation center and public spaces so youth have safe places to learn, build skills, and thrive.
